I’ve had my RS150B for over 2 years and I absolutely love it. I had to send it in and they had to replace the CPU. Got it back quickly and it works great now. Sounds fantastic and looks great. The app is the best I’ve seen on any streamer.

Have you tried the voyager and Susvara? I don’t think the combo can be beat. I have also Chord Qutest Dac and Hugo M scaler. Also have upgraded power supply for Chord M Scaler and Qutest.

If I listen to my 300B amp 2 or 3 times a day for 45 minutes each time, do you suggest that I leave the amp on during the day or turn it on on and off as needed?

How do you not know how bass frequencies work? The orientation of the driver has no effect on the sound.

I have got mine. It sounds warm and soft, I like it. However, when I measured the frequency response on different levels this DAC left me puzzled. Roll off on high frequencies? 0 dB = 0 dB, -10 dB = -8 dB and -20 dB = -17.5 dB ??? I have never seen any DAC measure like that. Thoughts?

I am so happy you pinned this against the Fluance RT85. I am VERY attracted to the U-Turn but the Fluance has auto-stop and the Ortofone 2M Blue. I almost went with the Fluance RT85 but I've decided to pull the trigger on the U-Turn! Thanks for a great down-to-earth review!

In your web review, you said you connected a sub to this system? How do you connect a sub to the Maria? I didn’t know you could do that. I am confused. You did say sub not really needed, but you connected one to see, but, how?

One advantage of a Subwoofer and standmount speaker is you csn optimise the best place in a room for the bass.. Conversely , you can't do that with a floorstander. You are stuck with the Bass Driver being below the tweeter, and sometimes depending on your room, that isn't the ideal location for it.

The amazing Pearl Sibelius are sadly out of my price range BUT i do have the 6.5 inch, Markaudio MOAP 11 single drivers in a pair of Frugal XL Horn cabinets (self-build kit) and every positive comment made in this review i can say is also true about my speakers which are 100% keepers. Individual instruments and vocals have never sounded so real, coherent and detailed. Hope to listen to Sibelius speakers one fine day.

How are Eversolo and Rose software dealing with compilation albums? Just asking because I have a Cocktail Audio X35 and my 1300 ripped CD's were completely messed up after their last firmware update. How responsive are these two companies in case of firmware issues? CA is not answering their customers and even some of their distributors since a few years, so looking for a new all in one device which can rip, save and organize my music on a built in SSD also.

About 5 years ago I heard the Sibelius speakers at the Munich HiFi show plus I was able to hear everyone who attended the show comment on them. I drive them with Rogue audio tube amp and Geshelli DAC with Qobuz hi fi streaming. Unlike you I think the stands make a huge difference. As you say this all heart and the reason I listen to any music. I am not a casual listener I have to have the room darkened and my eyes closed.

I'm curious, based on your same room size and If you have the budget for the Focal Diablo Utopia Colour EVO Bookshelf Loudspeakers.. which speakers would you recommend, the Borresen X1 or the Borresen X2 ?

With the new DSP integrated self powered amplified speakers you can tune the system to whatever your listening environment happens to be. The beauty of DSP is that you can adjust the sound to exactly match what you want to hear and set the system back to flat response to judge any improvements. Perhaps the only relevant thing now is the size of the speaker cone because the laws of physics limit the lowest sound that can be reproduced with a given cone size. A woofer that is eight inches in diameter should go low enough for most listeners. Ten inches or more will start to move the floor and walls and may lead to room resonance issues apart from annoying the neighbours.

Rel is my favorite subwoofer company I own duel Rel T7x for two channels music and a duel Rel HT 1510 for my home theater.

Keep in my folks, this is a downward firing only sub. If you have a concrete floor, you'll be fine. If you are on a sub floor or second story, it will sound boring and "one note".

Hola. I bought years ago a pair of Britannia 1 subwoofers from REL. Never looked back. They are the most natural sounding real subwoofers I ever heard and that included SVS, Velodynes and JL. They were the only front firing subwoofers from REL that I know off and where truly marvelous. For better in room response and to correct any dips or spikes in frequency respond I recommend placing the subs along the side walls facing your sitting position. Try it, you will be greatly rewarded with deeper bass and a smoother response. also find the -3db low frequency cut off of your main speaker and set the REL 10 hz higher for better integration (a couple of hz. higher or lower won’t hurt). Enjoy!

Ah, I very much wondered whether the new 99 is basically a smaller, less expensive Rel Gibraltar. Also regarding sound signature. Interesting!

I have a carpeted concrete floor…will a downward facing sub work?

Lots of talk and nothing of substance. No real comparison to the T9/x and the S/510 which are the 2 other REL products a prospective buyer would be cross-shopping. Thumbs down for this.
